Iran seeks additional Hajj quota from Saudi Arabia for 1406 season

Alireza Rashidian, head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, said the organization has formally requested Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to increase Iran’s Hajj quota for the 1406 pilgrimage season. The request is intended to accommodate 56,100 Iranian pilgrims who were unable to travel during Hajj 1405 and to reduce the waiting time for hundreds of thousands of registered applicants. Saudi authorities have not yet announced a decision on the request.
