According to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Information Centre, Alireza Rashidian, Head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, has instructed the Hajj Medical Centre to carry out medical fitness assessments for 2027 Hajj pilgrims in full compliance with approved medical regulations, describing physical fitness as a fundamental requirement for performing Hajj.
During a meeting with officials from the Hajj Medical Centre, the organization reviewed preparations for post-registration medical examinations. Dr Ali Akbar Jangjou, Deputy Head of the Hajj Medical Centre, said applicants will be referred to approved physicians for clinical examinations and laboratory tests, after which the results will be submitted electronically to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for assessment.
He added that pilgrims identified as having higher health risks will undergo additional medical monitoring and will be reassessed approximately two months before departure. Dr Saeed Ali Marashi, Head of the Hajj Medical Centre, also announced that the nationwide medical network is fully prepared to implement the programme.
