180 Arbaeen Mawkibs to Depart Isfahan Province for Iraq

180 Arbaeen Mawkibs to Depart Isfahan Province for Iraq

A total of 180 Mawkibs from Isfahan Province are set to deploy to Iraq to provide services to Arbaeen pilgrims, marking a significant increase from the previous year.

The Arbaeen Mawkib organisers' conference for the province was held at the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Hall at the University of Isfahan, attended by servants of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, Mawkib organisers, and officials from executive agencies. Hojjat al-Islam Mahdi Gorji, head of the Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee for Isfahan Province, announced at the event that 180 Mawkibs from the province would be deployed to serve pilgrims, with departures for Iraq commencing tomorrow.

Noting that the number of provincial Mawkibs has risen compared to last year, he added that while approximately 120 Mawkibs from Isfahan participated in the Arbaeen ceremonies last year, this figure has now reached 180, accounting for roughly 10 per cent of the country's total Mawkibs.

Hojjat al-Islam Azhdari emphasised that the role of the Mawkibs is not limited to providing welfare services. He stated that a Mawkib should not be viewed merely as a site for material assistance; rather, it serves as a civilisation-building university, a school of ethics, and an international media platform with the capacity to promote the culture of brotherhood, unity, humility, humanity, and resistance. The head of the Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee for Isfahan Province added that Mawkibs can convey the culture of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) to various nations and help foster solidarity among Muslims and freedom-loving peoples.

Referring to the conditions surrounding this year's Arbaeen, he remarked that, in light of recent events, a unique spiritual atmosphere has emerged among the people of Iran and Iraq, and the Iraqi people's reception of pilgrims demonstrates the deep bond between the two nations in pursuit of shared ideals.

Hojjat al-Islam Azhdari continued by noting that, following the grand funeral processions for the leader of the Ummah and the recent martyrs, the people of Iraq hold a special regard for Iranian pilgrims, a factor which may further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and empathy during this year's Arbaeen ceremonies.
