Electronic visa process for 1406 Hajj begins; first 'reference number' issued

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has announced the commencement of the electronic visa process for the 1406 Hajj pilgrimage with the issuance of the first reference code.

The Deputy for Hajj and Umrah at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has announced that the electronic visa process for the 1406 Hajj has entered its operational phase with the issuance of the first 'reference number' (raqam-e talab). This step serves as a preliminary measure for obtaining visas for Hajj applicants, and the issuance of subsequent reference numbers is currently being pursued and processed. The 'reference number' is a code obtained after uploading the personal and passport information of applicants into the centralised system of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, serving as a prerequisite for the subsequent stages of issuing electronic visas for each pilgrim.

Akbar Rezaei, Deputy for Hajj and Umrah at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, noted the ongoing efforts and the cooperation and interaction with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, stating: 'The first reference number for the 1406 Hajj has been issued, and other reference numbers are, God willing, being pursued and issued.' Emphasising the importance of this stage in the electronic visa process, he added: 'The issuance of the reference number is the first significant and effective step in this process, and we hope that with the continued cooperation between the two countries, the stages of issuing visas for 1406 Hajj pilgrims and staff will be carried out in a smooth manner and within the designated timeframe.'
