Registration for new Umrah pilgrimage period begins 9 February

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has announced that registration for Umrah pilgrimages during the month of Ramadan will open at 10:00 am on Tuesday, 9 February.
The Deputy for Hajj and Umrah at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has announced the commencement of registration for applicants wishing to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage as part of the special departures scheduled for the holy month of Ramadan. Registration for this period will open at 10:00 am on Tuesday, 9 February, via the 'My Hajj' portal, with departures scheduled between 23 February and 9 March.
Akbar Rezaei highlighted the profound spiritual significance of this period, stating: 'These departures coincide with the holy month of Ramadan, the month of the revelation of the Holy Quran. Pilgrims will have the privilege of performing the Umrah rituals, visiting the land of revelation and the Sacred House of God, as well as the Holy Prophet's Mosque in Medina, while benefiting from the spiritual atmosphere of the holy shrines and the divine banquet.'
He added that approximately 16,461 pilgrims will be dispatched to the holy lands from 15 flight hubs across the country. Comprehensive planning for operational services, including accommodation, catering, transport, and cultural and spiritual programmes tailored to the month of Ramadan, has been finalised for these departures.
Addressing the issue of costs, the Deputy for Hajj and Umrah clarified: 'Despite the increase in service costs within the host country during Ramadan, the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has endeavoured to manage foreign exchange costs to maintain the level and quality of services in Medina and Mecca in line with previous standards. While efforts have been made to prevent an increase in foreign currency expenditure, the rise in the final cost for pilgrims is due to fluctuations in exchange rates.'
Rezaei noted that the cost of the Umrah journey, which is generally denominated in foreign currency, covers services including accommodation, flights, internal transport, rail travel, and catering. According to the official, applicants may choose between double or triple-occupancy rooms when registering and selecting their travel group. Variations in package prices are determined by room type, hotel pricing tiers, and the departure airport.
He emphasised that holders of Umrah registration documents will be given priority for travel, and registration will take place simultaneously across the country. The official portal for registration is my.haj.ir.
