The Greatest Act of Proxy

A narration shared in commemoration of the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon her) highlights the superior merit of performing acts of worship on her behalf.

A man once approached Imam Jawad (peace be upon him) and explained that whenever he was honoured to perform the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages, he would perform a circumambulation (tawaf) on behalf of the Prophet, another on behalf of the Commander of the Faithful, and so on, until he reached the Imam himself, stating that he also performed one on behalf of his mother, Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon her). The Imam replied that the act performed as a proxy for the Siddiqah al-Tahirah (blessings of Allah be upon her) is superior to all others.
