Iranians living abroad to benefit from Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation services for 2027 Hajj

Officials from the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organisation have met to coordinate registration and services for Iranian expatriates planning to attend the 2027 Hajj.
According to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, a meeting was held between directors of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation and the General Directorate for Cultural and Social Affairs of Iranians Abroad at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organisation. The session aimed to examine the details of registration for Iranian applicants residing overseas for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
During the meeting, discussions focused on existing capacities for informing and inviting Iranians living abroad, planning for their participation in the upcoming Hajj season, and strategies for providing appropriate services to pilgrims travelling from various countries to the holy lands.
Following the establishment of a specific framework for the participation of Iranians living abroad in the Hajj pilgrimage starting from the 2026 season, planning to utilise this capacity for the 2027 Hajj is being pursued with urgency.
Saeed Koozegaran, Director General of the Office for Planning, Admission and Dispatch of Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims, emphasised during the meeting that a significant portion of the quota allocated for these compatriots has already been filled. Eligible applicants have until mid-October to complete their registration within the announced timeframe.
In the same session, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Ahadi, Director General of Cultural and Social Affairs for Iranians Abroad, highlighted the cultural and social potential of the Iranian diaspora and the expatriate elite community. He stressed the importance of leveraging these capacities to develop connections and facilitate the participation of compatriots in religious rituals and pilgrimage journeys.
Noting the interest of Iranians living abroad in spirituality and pilgrimage, he stated that enabling these compatriots to join Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation caravans provides them with access to the services and facilities intended for pilgrims.
Furthermore, the meeting explored strategies for expanding information dissemination regarding Umrah and Atabat (pilgrimage to holy sites in Iraq) for Iranians living abroad, with directors from both organisations pledging to pursue further cooperation in this area.
Supplementary details regarding information programmes and the methods by which Iranians living abroad may access pilgrimage travel services will be announced in due course.
