First meeting of the Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee held in Gilan

The inaugural meeting of the Gilan Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee took place on Monday, 21 July 2025, to coordinate activities for the upcoming pilgrimage.

According to the Public Relations office of the Gilan Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, the first meeting of the Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee for the province was held on Monday, 21 July 2025, at the Ghadir Hall of the provincial Hajj and Pilgrimage management office. The session was attended by committee members with the objective of planning and coordinating cultural and educational activities for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

At the start of the meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Mohammad Foroutan offered condolences for the mourning period and extended a warm welcome to the attendees. He remarked that Imam Hussain (AS) requested a one-night reprieve from the Umayyad army, stating his love for prayer, recitation of the Quran, supplication, and seeking forgiveness—elements which he emphasised should be implemented and prioritised during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

Following this, Vahid Eskandari, the Director of the Gilan Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, provided a report regarding the registration of pilgrims on the Samah system and the plans concerning the deployment of volunteers for this year's Arbaeen. Additionally, Brigadier General Douhando, Director of the Atabat Aliyat Headquarters, provided information regarding the number of mawkibs (pilgrim service stations) being dispatched from Gilan province, as well as details on cultural programmes, accommodation sites for the mawkibs, and other related activities.

The meeting was convened to better organise cultural and educational programmes during the Arbaeen period and to coordinate the efforts of members to ensure the ceremony is conducted as magnificently as possible.
