Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation announces start of final 1405 Hajj registration and caravan selection

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has announced the schedule for final registration and caravan selection for the 1405 Hajj pilgrimage via the My.haj.ir portal.

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has issued an official announcement regarding the commencement of caravan selection and final registration for the 1405 Hajj pilgrimage through the portal at My.haj.ir. According to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Information Base, the details of the announcement are as follows:

Based on the planning conducted by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, the final registration phase for applicants who participated in the pre-registration process and paid the initial deposit will proceed according to the provincial schedule below.

At 10:00 am on Saturday, 6 December (15 Azar): Eligible applicants from the provinces of Razavi Khorasan, Golestan, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Fars, Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Alborz, Semnan, Hamadan, Markazi, and Gilan who paid their deposits during the first ten days of pre-registration.

At 10:00 am on Sunday, 7 December (16 Azar): Eligible applicants from the provinces of Tehran, South Khorasan, North Khorasan, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Yazd, Sistan and Baluchestan, Qom, Qazvin, Zanjan, Bushehr, Lorestan, Kerman, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Ilam, and the city of Kashan who paid their deposits during the first ten days of pre-registration.

At 10:00 am on Monday, 8 December (17 Azar): Remaining individuals from the provinces listed for Saturday who have not yet registered.

At 10:00 am on Tuesday, 9 December (18 Azar): Remaining individuals from the provinces listed for Sunday who have not yet registered.

Eligible applicants include those who completed pre-registration and paid the deposit via My.haj.ir, as well as individuals who registered for the 1399 Hajj pilgrimage, paid the relevant fees, and have not yet withdrawn. These individuals have until 24:00 on Saturday, 13 December (22 Azar) to select a caravan and complete their registration. If they fail to do so, remaining capacity will be opened to subsequent priority groups on a daily basis.

Caravan selection and registration must be completed online at My.haj.ir. After selecting a caravan, applicants must visit the caravan manager's office within 48 hours to submit documents, undergo medical examinations, and obtain medical clearance. Required documents include the original deposit receipt (except for those who registered in 1399) and a national ID card. Applicants must ensure they hold a valid passport, which must remain valid until at least 21 November 2026 (30 Aban 1405).

The final cost of the pilgrimage is determined based on currency and rial expenses, adjusted for the price category of each caravan. Once a caravan is selected, the remaining balance must be paid within one week via the My.haj.ir portal.

Important notices: Final registration is contingent upon submitting documents to the caravan manager within 48 hours; failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the reservation. Applicants intending to travel together can form groups via the single-window portal, though each individual must personally pay their own balance. Registration will cease in each province once caravan capacities are full. Applicants must ensure their chosen caravan matches their pre-registered province, city, and religious affiliation. Furthermore, applicants are responsible for verifying their own travel clearance; any financial losses resulting from travel bans remain the responsibility of the applicant. The cost of the sacrificial animal is separate and will be communicated by the caravan manager once finalised with the Islamic Development Bank.

Given that many aspects of the Hajj, including the leasing of pilgrim accommodation, are organised and executed in accordance with the regulations of the host country's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation faces limitations regarding the selection of hotels and the allocation of capacity. Consequently, the per-pilgrim accommodation allowance in Medina and Mecca is approximately four square metres, with a maximum occupancy of four people per room.

The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation has endeavoured to secure accommodation for pilgrims in Medina within hotels situated near the Prophet's Mosque (the central district). However, due to the specific geographical conditions in Mecca, the hotels utilised by pilgrims are located in various districts. Considering the distance to the Masjid al-Haram, pilgrims will use dedicated 'Iranian pilgrim' buses that operate between these various districts and the stations surrounding the mosque.

In light of the aforementioned points, the accommodation cost for each pilgrim has been calculated and determined based on their place of residence in Medina and Mecca. Therefore, one of the fundamental reasons for the variation in costs between caravans is the location of their accommodation in each of the two cities, as well as the category of the caravan.

Given that the cost of travel for each caravan varies based on the price group of the pilgrims' accommodation—which is visible to applicants at the time of caravan selection—it is recommended that sufficient care be taken when choosing a caravan from the outset. It will not be possible to transfer a pilgrim from one caravan to another due to the operational difficulties this would cause.
