Hajj and Pilgrimage Directorate of Ilam Holds Handover Ceremony

A ceremony was held to mark the transition of leadership at the Ilam Province Hajj and Pilgrimage Directorate, with Ebrahim Mahmoudi appointed as the new director.

According to the public relations office of the Ilam Province Hajj and Pilgrimage Directorate, a ceremony was held to honour the outgoing director and welcome the new appointee. The event was attended by national and provincial officials, as well as representatives from neighbouring provinces, to recognise the diligent and tireless efforts of the outgoing director, Sajjad Rahmani, and to formally appoint Ebrahim Mahmoudi as the new director of the Ilam Province Hajj and Pilgrimage Directorate.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Haj Hossein Yousefinejad, followed by the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a special prayer dedicated to Imam Reza (AS). During the proceedings, Sajjad Rahmani welcomed the guests, officials, and representatives from the provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan, and provided a brief report on the performance of the provincial directorate during his tenure.

Dr Karimi, Deputy for Management Development and Human Resources at the Ilam Governorate, also spoke at the event, addressing the significance of the Hajj pilgrimage and its religious standing within society.

Hojjat al-Islam Rahmani, Advisor for Provincial and Parliamentary Affairs at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, thanked the outgoing director for his service and wished the new director success in his role. During his address, he paid tribute to the martyrs of the 12-day and Ramadan wars, as well as the late Dr Alireza Bayat, the former head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation, highlighting the courage and decisive actions taken by the organisation during past crises. He further reflected on the history of the provincial directorate over the past few decades, detailing the organisation's crisis management efforts during the imposed war, including the coordination of pilgrim luggage and logistics at the Mehran border. He urged the new director to focus on human resources, staff development, and to pursue the expansion of pilgrimage services to the Atabat-e-Aliyat with diligence.

Farzad Kakaei, representing the province's pilgrimage agents, expressed appreciation for Sajjad Rahmani’s dedicated service and presented a list of requests from the agents to the new director.

In his remarks, the new director, Ebrahim Mahmoudi, welcomed the attendees and stated that he possesses a relative familiarity with Ilam Province. He pledged to dedicate his efforts to the progress of the province and the achievement of organisational goals, stating that he would spare no effort in his new role. He identified consultation and collaboration as the cornerstones of his approach, noting that administrative discipline and the welfare of his colleagues remain among his top priorities.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the official appointment letter to Ebrahim Mahmoudi by the Advisor for Provincial and Parliamentary Affairs of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation.
